I feel they should do something so as to increase the auction duration by 2 mins evrytym anyone makes a last minute bid.

This would infact strengthen the market. Its usually like u know, there is no bidding war fr a good player..everything is silent. He is going fr a bit less than his market price and suddenly in the last few seconds, another manager bids thus avoiding any bidding war. If the duration increases by 2 mins due to a last minute bid,the person whose bid was overtaken may want to bid more and thus strengthen the market.

Wouldn't strengthen the market, would just make each auction last an extra few mins, would really do nothing to enhance activity. Same people who 'snipe' these guys would still just bid right before anyway.

It has annoyed me in the past where someone has come along and just taken a player from my grasp with seconds to go but then again, t's my fault for not having a high enough bid. I've done the same to others. You win some you lose some.

+1 to the response, -1 to the suggestion

It wouldn't do anything, except slow down auctions incredibly as A bids $10k over the last bid, auctions extends 2min, B bids $10k over the last bid, auction extends 2min, A bids another $10k, and so on and so on and so on.

Instead of a game of bidding your highest amount at the last minute, it becomes a a game of who can out last whom.

Rarely someone place just 10k on a next bid. Most people use maximum bid. Using 10k on a bid in a last minute includes the risk that the player before placed maximum bid much higher than 10k.......
So by placing 10k by 10k on a player that is currently over 10 million (for example, not to say higher) is silly.

Like in any other auction, if current maximum bid is not surpassed, the time is not extended.

The entire idea is silly. People don't place only $10k on an auction now at the last minute because there isn't a two minute extension. But if every time there is a new bid in the last minutes the auction is extended, why would I need to place a max bid? I wouldn't because as soon as the next bid were placed the auction would be extended again. I only need exceed the max bid by $10k.

if you would really want that player, believe me..u wont want to keep extending the auction. u will obviously put a max bid if you want that player right then and you will keep it really high so that the auction doesnt keep extending cuz if the auction keeps on extending, someone else might join in the bidding process too. Anyways i understand that u all dont like this idea and it is ok. 19/04/2015 08:16
