I know this topic has been discussed endless times, but seeing strikers miss the goal 80% of the times in 1 v 1 situations but score from 30 yards and beyond with three defenders in between (to add insult to injury, often at 30 degree angle from the baseline) still cause me endless frustration.
I strongly feel that the consequence of increasing shooting accuracy in 1 v 1 situations will not be disastrous. It will press managers to put more thoughts into making better defensive formation. Ultimately, the game should reward effort and ingenuity, right?

+1 , shooting from distance or from near goal is the same in this sim , which encourage OT, although its doing great for me , it would be more realistic if they did what u suggested

Implementing this will be easy too. All the developers need to do is add a query for the positions of the opponents' defenders when a player is about to shoot. 08/01/2013 00:01

My favorite 1 on 1 non-goal happened to me on Sunday:

I still would have lost, but it was ridiculous nonetheless.

I knew once he paused that it wasn't going in. I don't get too worked up about the sim, though...you win some, you lose some.

That was kinda hilarious, though I am sure you don't feel the same way.

I'm still pretty new to this game, but I've been both amused & frustrated by the shooting inaccuracy ever since I signed up. This morning I watched the full sim & counted: My striker had *19* 1-on-1, full breakaways from the edge of the box in on goal. He scored twice.

This happened after I subbed in a backup striker, and it just made me sad:

I totally agree with u especially as it wud encourage more managers to do a lot of thinking in their defence.. +1 08/01/2013 08:47

yup. the sim at the moment rewards luck more often than breaking through a defence.

chances from scrappy bits of play, defenders passing to the opposition, rebounds of the woodwork, or attackers stealing the ball in the penalty area are often converted. clear breaks don't seem as effective.
