I can confirm that they have already implemented this in the regular sim on the es server. Unconfirmed rumor is that @ are insisting that any change here happen no earlier than half season | 27/01/2013 00:45 |

(Which I obviously support whole-heartedly. Every change generates winners and losers, consistency is as important as fixing bugs when you're dealing with a complex sim | 27/01/2013 00:45 |

Juhulius said: Wont the removal of slow defender encourage offside trap They also tried to fix strikers passing to other players in an offside position, so it may not be an issue. I have not seen the new sim yet. |

Edited by kkii567 27-01-2013 16:09 it will be substancial change if you like to keep your defense line up.Currently your defenders go slow as they move up the pitch to discourage OT but with the update they will be back in full gear.(dont know if high OT will return to haunt us) |

approximately 1 year ago, the devs introduced an update intended to kill offside trap. Right now, defenders are increasingly slower as they get further from the back goal line. Unfortunately, this update also make their tackling less effective and renders great defenders about as useful as a 60 average midfielder. | 27/01/2013 16:27 |

Apparently they fixed stupid strikers as well, which was an update about 11 months ago where strikers were given an increasing chance of scoring with each shot, causing them to do stupid things like shoot sideways from 3 feet in front of an empty net with no defenders around them. This was intended to remove high scorelines like 25-0. I always argued that the only good thing to do was to make defenders more effective. We will see OT, but as I said back then, it was already possible to thwart a high OT simply through smart placement of very fast strikers. The only thing they need to do is make it less likely to pass to an offside striker in a breakaway to kill high OT. Of course, even with the current sim it is possible to prevent this through good placement of strikers so that they don't pass to one another. The easiest way to answer these questions is to log into the spanish server es.strikermanager.com and watch a few div. 1 games. |
