Thanks for that @rand!

Its legal, but just at the extremity of it...at least most teams now defend with 6-8 players around their boxes....div 1 and 2.

Helo guys,

While i understand the problem that we have here, I must say that this is not illegal.

The simulation is a black box that outputs some results depending on some inputs( tactics, averages, etcetera ), and the guys that use this tactic are not abusing the system, because they use the same black box as we all use.

I understand matches are ugly, and this tactic might have an above-average winning rate, but we cannot forbid every tactic that is better than the average.

Where shall we put the line to ban the usage of a tactic? If we ban this one, should we ban every tactic that has an abnormal winning rate due to some non-logic behaviour of the simulator? Simulation has many things that differ from real football, and we have to live with it. And of top of that, this tactic is beatable by many ways, it should not be a problem apart from the "uglieness" of the simulation match.

Obviously, we dont like this kind of tactic and we would be happy if people dont use it anymore, but as long as it's not a "hack" in our system, or something like that, it is not against the rules.

We might modify the simulator on a later stage to prevent this kind of tactic being possible, but that is not possible right now i'm afraid, as we are giving priority to SM2.

Regards.

but it is a bug in relation to back passes to GK which if this is a football simulator based on actual football the GK should not be able to pick up passes from his own team. Although i do appreciate that you guys are busy with SM2, there have been complaints by many long term managers and you run the risk of losing quite a few if nothing is done, you say it is not a bug but anything that can keep the ball completely away from the opponent when you go 1 ahead is abuse of a loophole in the simulator. If you played the game and put as much into a team as most people have and have to watch this tactic for 30 or 45 minutes of your game when literally nothing happens you would agree this is not a fair or just tactic.

Can you show us an example of when this formation was 'beat'? Actually I would take a time when it gave up a goal.

I'm guessing you could surround the gk area with forwards & hope they intercept the back pass.

When GK gets ball forwards usually retreat

Yep. Even if we created a formation where every position was up in the box and set it as a tactic to change to that formation when down 1 goal, his opponents would be put int he position of trying to guess whether he will use this pass back loop bug....when he doesn't use it the opponent will be at a severe disadvantage.

There should not even be a question about this since the pass back to GK is such a clear violation - (and by the way, pass backs to GK used to be allowable in RL but the rules were changed because of abuse) - the dev's should fix this. It shouldn't be punished, the bug loop should be fixed.

as much as i dont like editing posts i really dont want this formation to spread Spade, we all feel the devs are dicks for ignoring this but the last thing we want is the whole of SM to use this bullshit tactic

If you still want to go ahead with posting the formation for all to see i will send you a message of this post prior to my edit and you can post it again and i will not do anything

With the above formation, dont forget to set you tactics that you go on full effort and attacking till you are 1or 2 up and then activate this formation.

disclaimer: this is still work in progress, against good teams, it might backfire. But it may give you a 'unfair' but legal advantage over teams with solid formations and tactics.
